Dude there is nothing you can say that would make Jeter not Jeter! I'll agree with you on some people but not this one!!! He's one of the best! And if you don't think he's going to the HOF your nutz
he will go to the HOF because he played for the yankees
it wont be based on numbers
his numbers are very average
look at his career......then project renteria and michael young to the same number of years and you will find that jeters numbers arent really that impressive
Really? ok I guess batting a .317 isn't that great! Batting a 317 for your career is pretty damn good!
Oh here is a lil more info for ya
Jeter has spent his entire career with the New York Yankees, starting in 1995 when he was 20 years old. He has won the American League Rookie of the Year Award, a Silver Slugger Award, and three Gold Glove Awards. In 2000, he became the only player to win both the All-Star Game MVP Award and the World Series MVP Award in the same year. His .317 career batting average through the 2006 season ranks him with the 5th-highest lifetime batting average of all active baseball players. He has been in the top seven in the American League in both hits and runs scored for nine of the past ten years. During the 2000s he ranks second in the major leagues in hits (1,504), fourth in runs (857), and tied for seventh in batting average (.317) (stats accurate as of July 28, 2007)

look at what i said......his overall numbers are on par with michael young and edgar renteria
are you ready to crown them too?
4 world series rings
96-07 Playoffs
6 world series
Id say they dont match that... oh yeah and he is the Captain.
To deny Jeter his place is foolish and warrants someone to ignore their foolish statements. Beyond his on field accomplishments look at what he has done for the Yankees over the years as a leader, you have to watch the documentary on the 01 World Series against the D BACKS to see how he affects his team. I hate, HATE David Ortiz, but if I need a HR in the 9th, Big Papi is my man.
"the captain" any idiot can be named captain of their team
as for those playoff numbers.....thats all well and good.....but would he have still done that if he was playing in pittsburg?
no
the team around him is why they made it all those years......not him
I will say this if Jeter makes the Hall of Fame (which he will) Barry Larkin should be in as well (but he wont be).

very good point
again......as individual players.....they have very similar numbers
the HOF should be based on individual honors and accomplishments
if jeter gets in ahead of larkin it would be because he got lucky enough to play for the yankees who happened to be winning during his career......a luxury larkin didnt have
